What Kind of Paints to Use on Gourds
Hi Geri, I really enjoyed the gourd class. I was wondering what all types of paints and ink dyes work on the gourds. I should have written them down when I was there but got to excited in making the gourd. Also, can you give me the brand name on the ink dye.

I look forward to doing another one with you.

Thanks,
Fran

You can use acrylic paints both regular and metallic. You can get those almost anywhere. Leather dyes also work but in the sun they can fade. That's what I started out using.

Angelus Leather Dyes and you can get online. Gourd Ink Dyes from Welburn Gourd Farm online, both metallic and regular. They might have supplies at Wuertz Gourd Farm online where I get my gourds. Look online also. Also Watercolors, Gouache, Caran d'Ache colored pencils. Actually Fran, I've tried about everything except Oil Paints.

I'm so glad you enjoyed the class. And yes, I definitely will be giving one on a Gourd Mask. Thanks for your participation. Any more questions, don't hesitate to ask.
